How does it work? Usually the client has a size and a design direction in mind. Often clients will e-mail a photo, drawing or rough idea to me.
In the first stage I present a quote based on size and a thumbnail design. This is a starting point and we may go through several changes or not before we get to the finished piece. I do all my own design work. I do not use a computer program or copy book designs. While I will refer to other artwork in the same space I do not duplicate except in historical restoration work. Here is a example of a rough sketch.
Once the sketch has been approved we move to a full scale cartoon and glass choices. Some clients like to be very involved in this others choose to let me make the choices. Either way is fine and acceptable.
The finished work will be very different from those first rough sketches…
